Angela Grant Sapp is veteran educator with Gadsden County Public Schools. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Home Economics and Certification in General Science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Her graduate studies were completed at Grand Canyon University where she earned a Master of Education Degree in Education Administration. Ms. Sapp began teaching as a home economics and science teacher at James A. Shanks High School. Over the years Ms. Sapp has also worked as an instructional and athletic coach at Shanks and East Gadsden High School. She currently serves as the school district’s Race to the Top (RTTT) Science Coordinator, Director of the West Bend Science and Engineering Fair, member of Gadsden Technical Institute Occupational Advisory Council and mentor teacher for the FloridaLearns STEM Scholars program. In addition, Sapp co-sponsors Key Club at East Gadsden. Gadsden County School District uses the state's Race to the Top "Theory of Action" to address specific needs as indicated by relevant assessment data. This includes but is not limited to teachers and administrators facilitating a culture of rigorous differentiated instruction and participating in data-driven professional development. The district's RTTT strategic plan focuses on reading and science instruction which also contributes to the states goals of closing the achievement gap and increasing the percentage of students earning proficient scores on the National Assessment of Educational Progress
